Anna Power is the MD of Johnson & Alcock and looks after a diverse list of authors of fiction and narrative non-fiction. With over 20 years’ agenting experience, she loves discovering and working with emerging talent, as well as guiding established, bestselling writers.

In fiction, Anna enjoys literary, book club and historical fiction, as well as suspense and crime.  Whatever the genre, she looks for a distinctive and compelling voice, and worldbuilding that immerses the reader. She is drawn especially to a moral dilemma, stories about families and relationships, and novels that combine darkness and humour. She is also interested to see graphic novels which appeal to a crossover readership.

In non-fiction, Anna invites submissions of history, memoir, current affairs, cultural criticism, popular science, psychology and food writing; anything that communicates an author's passion in an inventive and inspiring way.  She welcomes approaches from experts with new and surprising takes on their subject, which alter the way we think about and engage with the world.
