Anna Power is the MD of Johnson & Alcock and looks after a diverse list of best-selling and prize-winning authors of fiction and narrative non-fiction. She enjoys discovering and working with emerging talent, as well as guiding established writers.

In fiction, Anna invites submissions of literary fiction as well as genre fiction, including historical, speculative, crime and romance.  Whatever the genre, she looks for a distinctive and compelling voice, and worldbuilding that immerses the reader. She is drawn to a moral dilemma, stories about families and relationships, and novels that combine darkness and humour.

In non-fiction, Anna is especially interested in history, memoir, current affairs, cultural criticism, popular science and travel and food writing, and books that communicate an author’s passion in an inventive and inspiring way.  She welcomes approaches from academics, journalists and experts with new and surprising takes on their subject, who would like to reach a wide readership.
