Isabella Barbato is a self-taught cook and food writer with deep roots in Sicily’s rich, multicultural heritage. Born in Ragusa, her love for food was nurtured in her family’s kitchen, where Sicilian and North African traditions intertwined, and the women in her life passed down their recipes and stories through cooking. After studying Languages and Cultures of the Mediterranean and Middle East in Venice, Isabella explored the diverse influences that shape Sicilian cuisine. Her ten years living in Southeast Asia, where she met her Indian husband, broadened her culinary perspective, blending Mediterranean flavours with Asian spices. Now based in London, Isabella shares her passion through her blog, supper clubs, popular ‘Pasta Therapy’ workshops, and her popular Instagram (@isabella.sicily, 60k followers), offering a unique space for connection through food and storytelling. Her debut cookbook, Pasta Therapy, will be published in June 2026 by Nourish.
