Professor Dermot Hodson is Professor of Political Economy at Birkbeck College, London. He is also Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, Bruges. Between 2003 and 2007, he worked as an economist at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs. Professor Hodson has also spent two decades writing and teaching about the EU; he has written six books, all but one with Oxford University Press or Cambridge University Press. His next book Circle of Stars: A History of the EU and the People Who Made It, will be published by Yale University Press in October 2023.
