Hannah King was born in County Down, Northern Ireland. She received a First Class degree in English with Creative Writing from Queen’s University Belfast , and went on become a proofreader at a Magic Circle law firm while studying for her Master of Arts in Creative Writing. Hannah’s work draws on the dark and twisting storytelling of her favourite writers Roald Dahl, Donna Tartt and Ian McEwan, and focuses on relationships, class, mental health and addiction… with a few murders thrown in for good measure. She likes to write love stories, though never in a romantic sense. Her short story ‘A Fair Grief’ featured in the 2019 publication Blackbird. Her debut novel, She and I (Raven Books, 2022), is a work of literary crime and explores female friendship and the dangers of assumption. Hannah’s second novel, The Blindspot, was published in 2025, with her third, Little Darlings following in 2026.
